PUBLIC LIBRARY OF TOPEKA & SHAWNEE COUNTY

This theoretical rebranding of a local library was created to demonstrate wayfinding signage and flexible typographic systems.

The Public Library is a flexible space oriented toward the voices and needs of the communities served. This branding solution was inspired by recording studios and soundproofing techniques, encouraging patrons to make themselves heard in a receptive space.

ADA-compliant wayfinding featuring warm wood, paperlike textures, and backlit accents expresses brand concept without excess decoration for ease of navigation.

Kids program branding features saturated hues playing off of the main brand system colors. One-eyed mascot refers to circular window also referenced in brand logo. The mascot's headphones are inclusive of both the multimedia approach of the contemporary library and the sensory needs of some child patrons.
